i'm that someone. and i stand by my statement. but i'm basing it on the early Source Direct 12"s. don't know what they sound like now. haven't even heard their _Wipeout XL_ track. those early 12"s are daaaaaaaaaark. much darker than Photek's Studio Pressure cuts. i'd align SD with Rufige Kru, Ed Rush, and the whole No U-Turn/Emotif hardstep posse. Photek has a lighter tone, even at his most intense. the bass on those SD records can snap your knees like twigs! GuerillaG2-G4/ gil np: strapping fieldhands. definitely not a name you see on IDM every day... PS: props to MP for the Moscheles LP. it's a great listen. lightweight, and somewhat non-essential; but nobody has done that vibes-and-breaks thing better... yet.
